Commissioned Sales FAQs

How is commissioned sales different from selling my car to you outright?

When we buy your car outright, we pay a trade price and take the retail margin ourselves. With commissioned sales, we sell your car at full retail value to a genuine end buyer and take an agreed percentage as our fee. In most cases you receive significantly more through commission - particularly on high-value vehicles where the trade-to-retail gap is largest.

How long will it take to sell my car?

It depends on the vehicle, asking price and current market demand. Many commissioned vehicles sell within two to four weeks. For rare or highly specified cars it may take longer. We give you a realistic timeline estimate before we proceed and provide regular updates throughout.

What if I change my mind and want my car back?

Our consignment agreement sets out a clear notice period and return process. You are not locked in indefinitely. If you wish to reclaim your car, we arrange return delivery and close the agreement with no penalty, subject to the agreed notice period.

What happens if the best offer I receive is lower than I expected?

You are under no obligation to accept any offer. We present every offer with our honest view of whether it reflects current market conditions, but the decision is always yours. If the market is not delivering the price you want, we discuss options including adjusting the asking price, waiting for the right buyer, or exploring an outright purchase from us instead.

Is my car insured while it is with you?

Yes. Your vehicle is covered by our trade insurance policy for the full period it is in our care. We provide written confirmation of this cover before collection takes place.

Can you arrange finance for the buyer of my car?

Yes. We have direct relationships with a panel of specialist lenders and can arrange finance for the buyer at the point of sale. This significantly widens the pool of potential buyers and can accelerate the sale considerably.

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

No. There are no upfront fees of any kind. Our commission is only earned when your car is sold, calculated at the agreed rate on the final sale price.

Can you collect my car from outside the Midlands?

Yes. We offer national collection from anywhere in the UK on a fully insured and documented basis. Contact us to arrange a convenient time.

What condition does my car need to be in?

We accept vehicles in a range of conditions. If preparation work would meaningfully increase the sale price, we discuss this upfront and can carry out preparation through our in-house team. Costs are agreed in advance and deducted from sale proceeds - not charged upfront.
